“Heaven is an apple strudel”

The outside eating area here is very good - a few tables in a very sheltered courtyard where you can sit and watch the world walk by. The interior is quite eclectic. I am not a fan of german sausages but my friend is, and they had a very extensive list of authentic austrian sausages, which she was over the moon about. My favourites, as I go here regularly in the summer to sit outside, are the viennese coffee and the apple strudel. The owner makes it from a family recipe and it is expensive, but fantastic, and well worth a treat. It's the best pudding or cake I've tasted by far, and I've worked my way through quite a few over the years!

Our 2nd visit to this little authentic austrian sausage enclave. The choice of quality coffee is only matched by the array of sausages. I We had the kasekreiner (smoky with cheese) and waldviertler (smoked over beechwood) with bread and German mustard, excellent. If you can take the calories the Bergsteiger (cheese sausage and onions) will power you up the hills.

Well this was a surprise!! An authentic Austrian coffeeshop and sausage importer in the centre of a Derbyshire town.
Outside is a small garden area, attractively decorated. I'm sure it's nice to sit out here in the summer.
Downstairs is a shop selling imported Austrian goodies-- sausages, coffee, mustards, soup mixes, gluewein etc.

Up the stairs are wooden tables. Walls decorated with Austrian nick nacks etc. Low Eaves at one end, so can feel a bit cramped, and can get busy!

An extensive menu of sausages, soups, sandwiches etc. with a wide variety of coffees, teas, juices etc.

Real Austrian Sausages direct from Vienna! Wiener Wurstel, Kasekreiner, Waldviertler, Debreciner, Grammelschmaltz, Speck, Landjager and more to order says the blurb!
Looking forward to my next visit to try some of these Austrian delicacies!

Favorite Dish: I had the goulash soup , which was excellent! hot, spicy and filling!! (I was suffering from a heavy cold at the time, so this was very welcome!)

My Mum had a vegetable soup, and my Dad had frankfurters, served with bread and mustard. Which they both really enjoyed!!
We drank apple juice, saltzburg coffee and hot chocolate with whipped cream. Mmmmmm!

Ideal for a cold winters day!
Opening times: 10am to 5pm (Closed Thursdays, and Closed Thursday and Friday - Winter)

Tiroler Stuberl the Austrian Coffee shop and Sausage Importer.
Tiroler Stuberl is a small Family Business. We have been serving the local community as well as many visitors to Bakewell for over 21 years with our ever expanding range of genuine Austrian Products.
We pride ourselves on having probably the friendliest bunch of waiters and waitresses in town – so service with a smile is guaranteed.

Guests can enjoy their coffees and sausages either upstairs in our rustic coffee shop - modelled on an Austrian mountain cabin, lovingly decorated with a multitude of Austrian knick-knacks, or join our flock of resident sparrows, and relax outside in our sunny courtyard. Surrounded by flowers galore, you could be forgiven for imagining yourself sunbathing in an alpine village, rather than in the centre of bustling Bakewell. Wait - ! was that a cowbell I hear (No, It's just the chef summoning a waitress)
